St. Simon the Zealot
Feast Day: October 28
Patron of: Tanners, curriers (leather processors)
St. Simon, one of the Twelve Apostles, is traditionally acknowledged as the apostle who preached the Gospel in Egypt. He’s also believed to have worked as St. Jude’s partner in evangelization. St. Simon’s nickname, “the Zealot”, points to a possible association with those Jews who advocated direct revolt against their Roman occupiers.
St. Simon is a little-known apostle who boasted an immense faith in God. If you’re looking for increased vigor in your daily routine or more depth in your prayer life, ask St. Simon to intercede for you.
