St. Joan of Arc
Feast Day: May 30
Patron of: Soldiers, France
St. Joan of Arc was born a poor French girl who lived in the fifteenth century. As a young child, she heard the voices of Sts. Michael, Catherine and Margaret calling her to help the King of France retake his country from the English. St. Joan went to join his army and ended up leading it. She faced a huge amount of animosity from churchmen and nobles alike, however, and was eventually martyred by being burned to death as a heretic while still a teenager.
St. Joan of Arc demonstrated a strong, fearless response to God’s will, even in the face of seeming insurmountable difficulties. Ask her to help you achieve your loftiest aspirations, and to develop your talents to the fullest.
