Creating Culture

Posted by Gabrielle Gniewek on February 23, 2011, 10:54 am

I once took a class that discussed culture – our effect on it, its effect on us, and the responsibilities we have toward it. We discussed in great length how before you can create content, you have to consume and foster content.

Waiting Is The Worst

Posted by Gabrielle Gniewek on February 14, 2011, 3:47 pm

Once I finished my steampunk script about two weeks ago, I immediately began work on the manga that will be distributed at World Youth Day in Madrid this year! It’s a short graphic novel about Pope Benedict XVI – in particular, his election and what he does on a daily basis...

Writing it TRUE

Posted by Matt Salisbury on February 11, 2011, 4:00 pm

The PAUL books aren't a word-for-word retelling of Acts; we have Acts for that.  The manga we create are a shared product of my imagination, Sean's, and yours.  They are fictional re-tellings.

Life Sucks, Then You Write

Posted by Gabrielle Gniewek on February 05, 2011, 3:07 pm

I finally completed the script last Wednesday night at the somewhat reasonable hour of 12:10 AM. Now I’m just going through post-script separation-anxiety. After having my eyes fixated to a computer screen for almost an entire week, all this free time comes as quite a shock...

Adaptations are delicate, sticky, and more than likely going to irritate some…

Posted by Marta Mary Connolly on February 02, 2011, 10:15 am

Think of the famous Lord of the Rings adaptation. Millions of fans loved them! But some, with an irritatingly impressive knowledge of the books, nitpicked the whole thing through. Yes, Arwen’s character was portrayed differently on screen, but that doesn’t nullify the marvelous commentary on Love and Evil, Pride and Grace that showed millions of viewers the importance of undertaking a vocation, for better or for worse, and seeing it through for the need of others, despite your own desires.

After about a day of flight, I finally touched down and reached home a couple hours ago, and I have to say how much i enjoyed this trip to Washington DC. Book Signing

Posted by Gabrielle Gniewek on January 26, 2011, 2:55 pm

A big “thank you” to everyone who came to the book signing in Washington D.C. last weekend! Our display tables were positioned outside the bookstore of the National Basilica, where we signed books and handed out limited edition posters at the commencement of the March for Life. As Matthew and I perfected our autographs, Sean hypnotized many fans by drawing sketch after sketch of popular characters from the books, and passing them out to lucky customers and passer-bys.

Life Lessons

I’ve toyed around with an idea of starting my own blog forever, but could never figure it out. Now I'm blogging for Manga Hero. You all know me as the author who wrote “Judith: Captive to Conqueror” volumes 1 and 2, and the latest volume of “Paul: Tarsus to Redemption,” but just like everything in my life, it only came after a very long, hard, dark and lonely road of pain, misery, and despair.
